Psalm 90:2-4
“Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. For a thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night.”- Psalm 90:2,4
I always like to think I am like God. I think the basic aspects of humans and God are similar. God uses written and spoken language. We use written and spoken language. God sees, hears, touches and tastes. We see, hear, touch and taste. We read in Genesis that God was walking in the garden. I walked to the gas station last week. God is God and we are not. So I know that God much more that humans are, but much of this is similar.
One of the things I just can’t relate to is the foreverness of God. I know there is a big fancy word for it. It is omni-somethingorother. The fact God looks at time as a single thing just blows my mind. The very second God created the universe he was thinking about me. He knew the day I would be born and the day I will die. He knew my wife would be working this morning.
For me it adds to the wonder of God. If I think too long and hard about it, I start to get a headache.
