2 Tim 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of cowardice, but of power, and of love, and of wise discretion.
2 Tim 1:7
Do you ever feel fear? Have you ever been in a situation where all you wanted to do was to get out? Have you ever felt like a coward? My answer would be "which time today did you want to talk about?". I think these are a natural feeling to the situations we deal with in the world today. However, this is never what God intended. God has given us a spirit of power and love.
We have all the necessary tools to meet all the challenges that will come our way.
Can you use a tool you don't know is there? Can you use a tool you know nothing about? We know we have been given tools, but do we take the time to learn about them? I see this verse as a welcome mat. It lets me know there is more to come if I chose to go through the door. I would like to be a person of power, love and wise discretion. I would even take just been semi-wise in discretion. Just think of all the pits you would avoid if you had just a little more discretion.
Every time people encouraged me to study my bible, I would think there just isn't any time in my busy day. If I learned to miss falling to one pit each day, I would have more than enough time to read and study my bible. The more studying I would do the fewer pits I would fall into each day.
There is at least a couple of pits with my name out there today. I am going to read my bible and save the time of falling into one of them. How about you?
