Proverbs 6

I could write several pages on Proverbs 6. There is so much great stuff in this chapter. There is guidance on money, planning for the future, and false friends. There is a list of things God hates. It seems a list of things God hates would be something really good to know. I think the best part of this chapter is from verse 20 to the end. Verse 20 in the Message starts out "Good friend follow your father's good advice; don't wander off from your mother's teachings...". It goes on and talks about adultery. As I read this I was thinking in more general terms. When you find a wise person (father/mother) follow their advice or you will pay the price. I love the visual it gives in the Message. "Wherever you walk, they'll (good advice or wisdom) guide you; whenever you rest , they'll guard you..." Wisdom calls to wisdom and stupid calls to stupid. If you have spend some years in stupid, it will take some time to turn things around. However the more you follow good advice the better things will become. I spend several years in stupid. There isn't much of a view. The natives are not very friendly. It is not the kind of place you want to live or even visit. I left stupid and said I would never go back. Occasionally I go the the city limits. I don't ever stay long because the good decisions calls me back home.
