Proverbs 26
Listening to gossip is like eating cheap candy; do you want junk like that in your belly? Proverbs 26:22 The Message
My wife knows chocolate. Until I was married I thought there was just chocolate. It was pretty much all the same. Once and a while you would get some cheap chocolate at Easter or even worse a big chocolate Easter bunny that was hollow. Over the last six years I have had an education in chocolate. There is good chocolate and then there is chocolate that is not fit to eat. Dove milk chocolate is the top of the line. It can't have any junk in it. Carmel or nuts have no place in chocolate. Plamer chocolate is for the trash can. My chocolate education started at the first wedding we went to as a couple. Here I heard the words, "It's palmer chocolate". I can not express the emotion with which this statement was said. It was like finding a frog in the cookie jar.
Now you are wondering how does this fit to Proverbs 26:22. I thought all chocolate was the same. I didn't understand the difference between Dove and Plamer. Do you understand the difference between talk and gossip? Do you know someone who doesn't understand the difference between talk and gossip? It would be easier to know the difference if it had a wrapper like chocolate.
