Proverbs 24

It takes wisdom to build a house, and understanding to set it on a firm foundation; It takes knowledge to furnish its rooms with fine furniture and beautiful draperies. Proverbs 24:3-4 The Message

So many of us are great at understanding the dynamics of building a good house. You may not be an engineer or have a builder's license, but you understand the basic principles. We would never build a house on a sandy beach or under a dead tree that is leaning at an angle. We also understand you need to use good material. Rotten lumber full of holes is not going to make a good house.

How many of us build our lives on the sandy beach? How many of us accept bad decisions to furnish our lives? How many of us accept dangerous situations in our lives and we would never accept a bad construction job on our house?

It takes wisdom to build a house (life), and understanding to set it on a firm (Godly) foundation; It takes knowledge to furnish (make good decisions)its rooms (your days) with fine furniture (good actions) and beautiful draperies.

If your life was a house, would it pass the building inspector?
